Community Access System - Coming September 8th!

Welcome to The Hammocks at New Tampa Homeowners Association's Website!

  🚨 Important Gate Access Update for The Hammocks at New Tampa Residents 🚨

Beginning September 8, 2026, our community entry gate will transition to Butterfly Access Only.

What this means:
✅ Residents and visitors will use the Butterfly Intercom System for entry.
✅ Visitors can gain access by:

  • Receiving a Visitor Pass via code or QR code 
  • Searching the Resident Directory and initiating      a video call for entry 

📦 Good News! Delivery services, including USPS, UPS, FedEx, DHL, and Amazon, will continue to have access to the community.

🔑 Need a transponder or fob?
They are available for purchase at the Brentwood Clubhouse.


We will be providing further communications posted around the community and by the clubhouses. Additionally, we will have testing periods with the gate and access system companies to work out any final tweaks before we go live. We encourage all residents to work with us during these testing periods and familiarize themselves with the new system before the September 8th transition to ensure a smooth experience for you and your guests.

Community Access System - ButterflyMX Tenant Information

Please download the ButterflyMX app. Currently you will find Brentwood and Oakwood locations work continuing. As a reminder, renters are required to be on file with the HOA. Annual re-application is required. Access will automatically be removed without an official lease agreement.

No. Replacement transponders/fobs are needed.  Existing barcodes and fobs will no longer work. Fobs  are already obsolete. Barcodes are being replaced with transponders which are small clear stickers that can be placed on your windshield or headlight. These normally cost $10 , but a $2.50 discount will be provided for barcodes that are traded in. Similarly, fobs will be $15 with a $2.50 credit for trade-ins. 

With the available discount, transponders will be $7.50 and key fobs $12.50. Normal pricing will be $10 and $15, respectively, going forward. 

Money order or check can be accepted in person with Jennifer. Additionally, credit/debit cards can now be used. A small processing fee applies. We anticipate providing additional on-site hours to accommodate everyone's busy schedules.

We anticipate keeping the gates open for a few weeks to ensure reasonable time is allowed to migrate the community to the new system. 

 No. The ButterflyMX app is free to use on your smartphone. You can open all amenity doors using the app. 

Absolutely! Everyone is entitled to use amenities at both neighborhoods. All amenities will be able to be opened with key fobs and the app, once installation is completed.
